"WHEN WILL THEY BLOOM?"

Every year we select beginning and end ates for our official tall-bearded iris Bloom Season. This means our staff will be out in The Gardens at our Host/Hostess and Sales tables at that time, seven days a week. This does not guarantee that irises are blooming every day during that time period. PEAK BLOOM annually IS HISTORICALLY THE LAST WEEK OF MAY. Bloom dates are ultimately determined by the temperatures in early May, so please check this page daily for a report on what is blooming. Warm weather accelerates the blooming process while cool temperatures first stall the bloom and then keep the flowers in a holding pattern. In 2005, due to cool spring temperatures and little sun in early May, peak bloom did not occur until early June; most years there is little left to see by then. Feel free to make a personal inquiry via our e-mail address, presbyiris@comcast.net. We will try to help you plan your visit based on our best guestimates!
